Dungeness Artist

We recently went to Dungeness in Kent and came across Paddy Hamilton whom has made a beautiful small gallery space out of a couple of garden sheds in his front garden. You can find him down towards the lighthouse after passing Derek Jarman's garden. It was a little discovery that made my day, the tiny spaces were wonderful.

Another Little Bird

This is one of my mixed media pieces. I'm rather disappointed that you can't see the surfaces in a photograph, it's a lot richer in the flesh. At some point I'll try and explain the way I work, but this is a mix of processes including collage, paint and silkscreen print. It's part of a little group of images that I'm making, but this is the first to emerge to a near finished state.

I seem to have a growing obsession with birds, not particular birds, but little creatures like these. This little earthernware one sits nicely in the hand and emerged from a quick play around with the clay.

Easy Homemade Bread with NO KNEADING

My husband say's I'm a bread bore.... I have been searching for the ideal white loaf for ages; buying, bread maker, handmade. Then I came across Jim Lahey's book called My Bread.  It was a revelation and totally changes everything I knew about bread making. Now I make gorgeous bread on a daily basis in no time and with no kneading. The bread maker has been thrown away in disgust!
This one was rather craggy- I think that's called artisan!
This isn't what I'd intended to put on this blog, but it's definitely made with love, so I decided that it fitted the bill. It's just so easy and tastes brilliant, it's worth a try.
You can find out how to make the basic loaf at his Sullivan Street Bakery.

When Time Allows!

Once I get the hang of this I am hoping to get round to sharing my my mixed media art work and other bits and pieces of craft and things that I do along the way. The idea is that everything is handmade - with love. Time will tell, finger's crossed!
